Johor Bahru Sentral also is the southern terminus of KTM Intercity train services to Gemas and Pulau Sebang/Tampin via Ekspres Selatan or Tumpat via Ekspres Rakyat Timuran. KTM Intercity via Shuttle Tebrau also serves the Woodlands Train Checkpoint in Singapore across the Johor–Singapore Causeway. However, an electric train connection at Gemas is required for passengers to KL Sentral, Butterworth and Padang Besar.

Johor Bahru Sentral serves as the Malaysian immigration checkpoint for southbound rail passengers towards Woodlands. Northbound rail passengers from Woodlands are processed by Malaysian immigration and customs officers at Woodlands Train Checkpoint before boarding.

KL Sentral Station

Kuala Lumpur Sentral Station is an integrated transportation hub that caters for various modes of rail transport. It includes KTMB Intercity and Commuter services, Putra LRT services and Express Rail Link (ERL) services. The station is an integral part of the overall KL Sentral development.

Crowning the complex is a waved-like roof. The suspended domes and granite flooring patterns poetically express the fusion of modern technology with Islamic architecture. The feature also enriches the high-tech structural steelworks of the station. Spanning the East-West axis of the station, the sweeping waved roofs reflect the directional flow and motion of the railway tracks below.

The overall precinct masterplan and the integrated transport hub were undertaken in collaboration with Kisho Kurokawa Architects & Associates.

Kuala Lumpur International Airport KLIA

MAA's role was to ensure that the concept and design by Kisho Kurokawa/AJM were followed through to a practical reality of meeting end-users requirements as well as complying with authorities requirements involved in building.

The Main Terminal Building has wide opened public spaces at all its levels. The topmost level, the Departure Level, has the widest structural span. This level is roofed over with a series of iconic hyperbolic paraboloid shaped roofs with skylights over its ridges.

The Contact Piers, which are the outstretched arms attached at the apron end of the Main Terminal Building, have expansive double glazed laminated glass on both its sides to allow uninterrupted views of the outside airport activities from the inside.

The objective of the airport main terminal building with maximum transparency within during the day and, at night, from without, has been creditably achieved.
