Arkitek MAA hospital design hit the ground - KPJ Perdana Hospital Ground Breaking Ceremony
Kota Bharu, 4 June 2026, KPJ Healthcare Group marked a significant milestone on the expansion of KPJ Perdana Specialist Hospital with the ground breaking ceremony. The 13-storey annex to the existing hospital designed by Arkitek MAA to provide specialist treatments and patient care for the growing demand in Kota Bharu. It aims to double the hospital capacity to over 300 beds and add 80 specialist suites, transforming it into a premier medical hub for the East Coast region.

The groundbreaking ceremony was officiated by the Menteri Besar of Kelantan, Yang Amat Berhormat Dato’ Panglima Perang Ustaz Dato’ Haji Mohd Nassuruddin Bin Haji Daud, joined by Chairman of KPJ Healthcare, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr Ismail bin Haji Bakar; President and Managing Director of KPJ Healthcare, Chin Keat Chyuan; and Chief Executive Officer of Perbadanan Kemajuan Iktisad Negeri Kelantan. Arkitek MAA and the consultants team also present at the ceremony.
