Arkitek MAA structural changes to drive further success
Kuala Lumpur, 3 January 2025, Arkitek MAA is proud to announce notable structural changes in its leadership to drive further success in their practice. Datuk Ar. Ezumi Harzani has been appointed as the new chairman of Arkitek MAA, a role anticipated to steer the company through meaningful growth and innovation.
Ezumi has made significant contributions to Arkitek MAA over the span of his 28-year tenure, particularly in spearheading the digital transformation of the firm. His leadership extends beyond the company as he has served four terms as President of Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM) from 2017 to 2022.
Additionally, Ezumi's expertise is recognized on a national level as he holds a position as a board member of the Board of Architects Malaysia. His influence in urban planning and architecture is also acknowledged by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall through his role as an Advisory Board member. These positions highlight his dedication and impact in shaping the architectural landscape in Malaysia.

​As part of the firm's expansion program, Ar. Sam Wei Mun has been appointed as the new Human Resources Director. Sam began his career in 1997 and joined Arkitek MAA Sdn Bhd in 2006. He was appointed as the Director of M&A Architects & Consultants Intl. Co. Ltd (MAA’s joint venture company in China), and he began to run MAA’s branch office in Shanghai for 6 years.
With his extensive experience and expertise in architecture, Sam Wei Mun is poised to enhance the firm's capacity by recruiting top talents in both design and project production. This strategic move aims to equip the firm with the necessary resources to undertake larger and more diverse projects, thereby broadening its scope and reach in the industry.
In conjunction with the new leadership, several talented architects have been promoted to senior positions as part of the company's business expansion efforts.





Newly appointed associates include Ar. Josephine Tan, Ar. Hafiz Mursyidi Suhaimi, Ar. Azri Aziz, and Chew Choar Koon, each of whom has demonstrated exceptional skill and contribution in their respective fields. Further strengthening the leadership team, Architects Farkhan Hasan and Ahmad Syahmi Aminun have been elevated to the position of Architecture Manager.
Farkhan Hasan, who joined Arkitek MAA in 2017 after completing his Master’s degree in Architecture, has contributed significantly across various projects including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. His creative approach and application of innovative design principles have been instrumental in the success of these projects.
Ahmad Syahmi, a graduate of Universiti Teknologi Mara with a Masters in Architecture, started his career at Arkitek MAA in 2020. With extensive experience as a design architect and a BIM architect, Ahmad has played a crucial role in diversifying the firm’s project portfolio to include residential buildings, mixed-use developments, and sports facilities.
Through these strategic promotions and the infusion of fresh leadership perspectives, Arkitek MAA aims to cement its position as a leader in architectural innovation and quality design. The recent leadership adjustments signify the firm’s commitment to embracing change and fostering talent within its ranks for a prosperous future ahead.
